The Insta Wahti™ range of services will help you collect and refine process data and make the management of production systems efficiency more streamlined. It provides software that will flag deviations, optimize the consumption of energy and chemicals, and reduce your reporting burden.

In addition to conventional reports, the collected information can be visualized in understandable diagrams and linked to the process picture or the map. A situational picture that brings all of the data together offers real-time information on systems’ operation that enables a quicker response to malfunctions and analyzing them closely.

The Insta Wahti™ range of services includes the following software products that undergo continuous further development based on customer needs:

Insta Wahti™ Core

Core manages the secure collection, storage, and distribution of data for the Insta Wahti™ service family. It gathers measurement data from a variety of sources, including control rooms, logic systems, or external interfaces such as electricity consumption data from Fingrid Datahub or weather information from the Finnish Meteorological Institute. The collected data is stored in a centralized database, making it accessible to Insta Wahti™ services. Data can be gathered across multiple timeframes, covering decades of history.

The Core data collection service is deployed in the customer’s environment, close to the data source, to ensure maximum reliability. In the event of a connection loss, the system saves data locally, and once the connection is restored, all buffered data is transferred to a centralized database hosted either on Microsoft Azure or the customer’s server.

Insta Wahti™ Reporting

Reporting is a flexible, scalable tool designed for measurement data reporting and trend analysis. It can be customized to your specific needs for process reporting and situational monitoring. You can define the scope of Reporting, allowing you to manage hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports. At its most comprehensive, you can analyze financial, production, and operational metrics from a single, intelligent Focus overview that leverages AI. Custom views can also be developed for regulatory reporting based on your organization's requirements.

Focus AI detects and analyzes deviations in processes using predefined algorithms, significantly reducing response times to faults and enabling predictive, data-driven maintenance. This automated situational overview frees up valuable staff time, offers transparency across all organizational levels, and is suitable for any industrial sector.

Insta Wahti™ Support

Support provides comprehensive tools to manage and optimize your organization’s maintenance processes. It offers numerous advantages, such as more efficient resource management, predictive maintenance planning, and improved documentation and tracking of maintenance tasks. Predictive maintenance helps minimize equipment downtime and ensures that maintenance is performed on time and with precision. The system’s mobile views enable efficient usage across both computers and mobile devices.

As an Insta maintenance customer, you can easily communicate work orders through the system and track their progress. The system can also be integrated with Insta's automation systems, allowing for the creation of fault notifications and logbook entries directly from the control room.

Insta Wahti™ Alarms

With the Alarms extended notification software, you ensure that no critical events or faults go unnoticed. This robust software integrates with control room systems such as Aveva System Platform, Siemens PCS 7, and Win CC, forwarding alarms from the control room to selected groups via text message, email, or phone call. Installed within the customer’s environment alongside the automation system, it operates independently of internet connectivity.

You can prioritize alarms by defining alarm classes, controlling which alarms are reported and when – some may be sent at all times, others during working hours or outside of them. Alarms can store shift schedules and holidays, ensuring that notifications are directed to the appropriate personnel. Alarm data can also be integrated with the Reporting service, creating graphical views that facilitate system monitoring.

The system's redundancy ensures alarms are forwarded even if unexpected issues arise. In extreme cases where the entire control room system fails, Alarms' Watchdog feature will alert you.

Insta Wahti™ Flow

Flow is a map-based situational awareness tool designed to visualize environments where collected measurement data needs to be monitored efficiently at a glance.

Flow has been used in applications such as water production and wastewater network analysis. It compares water sales data for a measurement area with the actual amount of water supplied to that area. The software highlights areas on the map where the data is inconsistent. As a user, you receive immediate notifications of regional deviations and their scale, allowing faster detection of potential leaks. You can also customize map views and link them to data collected by Insta Wahti™ Core, such as network pressure or flow measurements.

Flow allows you to set thresholds based on past consumption levels, triggering alerts when these reference values are exceeded.

Insta Wahti™ Access

The Access application allows you to manage access control for both your premises and remote sites. With Access, you can assign access rights to subcontractors either individually or by group, enabling them to enter gates or doors by calling a designated phone number. The application also logs access events for future monitoring and review.

AI tracks water supply deviations, thereby freeing up human resources for more important tasks

The water utility Kangasalan Vesi invested in a Focus system that provides an overview of the data from more than 500 measurement locations. Besides cutting costs, the visual situational picture puts the organization one step ahead in terms of maintenance. The system was supplemented with smart analytics that uses AI to analyze measurements and then reports any detected deviations to the staff members.

– Among other things, detecting prolonged operating times has enabled us to find clogged pumps, while increased pumping volumes have led us to identify inappropriate releases of water to the sewer network, explains Head of Operation Mauno Annala from Kangasalan Vesi.

– These are exactly the kinds of tasks that automation and AI are well suited for.
